Video Poker is a favored game that can be played in casinos all over the world, or in your house on your PC, using a web connection. The rules are very straightforward and consist of the player trying to achieve the best combination of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. In this respect it is much the same as a classic game of poker, apart from the involvement with competing players. Of course, techniques used in a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless here.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the player inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A five card hand will be electronically ‘dealt’ on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the bettor wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the player has decided on which cards he or she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be needed they will be handed out. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Typically, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can change from machine to machine, so that skillful bettors are able to select the most profitable ones every time.
As soon as the first round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Additionally, several versions of the game give the gambler an opportunity to increase their wins, in which case a further hand is played. There are also differences between specific machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
