Video Poker is a popular game that usually will be gambled on in casinos all over the globe, or in your house on your home computer, through a net account. The game rules are very simple and involve the player attempting to get the best mixture of cards as you can in order to win cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a regular game of poker, without the interaction with competing players. Of course, tactics used in a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A 5 card hand will be "handed out" on the screen.
The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the bettor has decided on which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are given out if desired. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payout schedule.
Generally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can range from game to game, so that discerning bettors are agile enough to select the most beneficial machine every time.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to stay on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that might have been won. Additionally, several styles of the game allow the bettor a chance to double their wins, in which situation a further game is played. There are also variations between specific machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
