Video Poker is a favored game that can be played in casinos around the globe, or in your house on your PC, through a net connection. The regulations are very simple and involve the player attempting to get the greatest combination of cards achievable in order to win money. On this account it’s very similar as a classic game of poker, without the involvement with any other players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless here.
The game of Video Poker starts when the player puts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and presses the deal button. A hand of five cards will be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the gambler would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.
After the player has selected which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be dealt. The hand is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.
Generally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that experienced players are agile enough to select the most profitable machine each instance.
After the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game allow the enthusiast an opportunity to double their wins, in which case another round is played. There are also differences between specific games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying elements to enhance playability.
