Electronic Poker is a favored game that usually will be wagered on in casinos all over the globe, or in your house on your personal computer, through a net account. The rules are very straightforward and consist of the player trying to achieve the best mixture of cards achievable in order to win money. In this respect it’s very similar as a normal game of poker, without the involvement with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be useless here.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the player inserts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and gamblers should now pick which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the bettor would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the bettor has selected which cards he or she wishes to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be dealt. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the payout schedule.
Typically, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that discerning bettors are able to select the most profitable machine every time.
Once the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to remain on and try to to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Further, several versions of the game allow the player an opportunity to double their wins, in which case a further game is played. There are also variations among individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
