Video Poker is a favored game that can be enjoyed in casinos throughout the world, or in your house on your PC, through a net connection. The regulations are absolutely simple and involve the player trying to achieve the greatest mixture of cards as you can in order to come away with money. In this respect it’s very similar as a regular game of poker, without the interaction with any other players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the player puts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and presses the play button. A hand of five cards will be "distributed" on the screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers will need to now pick which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the player would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.

After the bettor has chosen which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards are needed they will be given out. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.

Generally, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can range from machine to machine, so that skillful gamblers are agile enough to choose the most money-making game each time.

After the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to continue on and try to to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Further, a few styles of the game allow the player an opportunity to double their winnings, in which instance another hand is played. There are also differences among specific games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
