Video Poker is a popular game that is able to be bet on in casinos across the world, or in your house on your computer, using an Internet account. The rules are absolutely simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the highest mixture of cards as you can in order to win money. On this account it’s very similar as a normal game of poker, without the line of contact with other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of 5 cards will be electronically ‘handed out’ on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players should now decide which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, whether it is all or none.
After the player has chosen which cards he or she wishes to retain, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards will be given out if desired. The hand is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Typically, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payment schedule can change from machine to machine, so that skillful bettors are agile enough to pick the most beneficial machine each time.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either choose to continue on and try to to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that have been won. Further, a few styles of the game give the bettor a chance to double their wins, in which instance another game is played. There are also differences between specific machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing elements to enhance playability.
