Video Poker is a favored game that usually will be gambled on in casinos around the world, or in your house on your home computer, using an Internet connection. The rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player trying to achieve the best combination of cards achievable in order to win cash. On this account it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, without the line of contact with any other players. Of course, techniques used in a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and presses the play button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘dealt’ on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the enthusiast would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the gambler has decided on which cards she wishes to keep, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards will be dealt if desired. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.

Normally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the payout schedule can vary from game to game, so that experienced bettors are able to select the most beneficial game each time.

Once the first round has played out, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that have been won. Additionally, some versions of the game allow the player an opportunity to double their wins, in which instance a further hand is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying characteristics to increase playability.
