Video Poker is a favored game that is able to be bet on in casinos around the world, or alternatively at your house on your computer, using an Internet connection. The game rules are absolutely straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the best assemblage of cards possible in order to acquire money. In this respect it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, without the involvement with any other players. After the bettor has selected which cards he would like to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be given out if desired. The round is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.

Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the pay out schedule can change from game to game, so that skillful enthusiasts are able to select the most money-making game every time.

Once the first round has played out, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Further, some versions of the game allow the gambler an opportunity to increase their winnings, in which instance another game is played. There are also differences between individual games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
